This is not a partisan blog. It wasn’t always that way, but I’m not a government employee anymore. In fact I’m my own boss. I still point out the flaws of candidates, and the virtues of others but I do often endorse certain candidates. My overriding philosophy continues to be that I think it is bad form to tell people for whom to vote – the facts should be persuasive enough.
All that being said, this is a political blog. In other words, it is a blog about politics. And practically speaking, the current facts on the ground require a little more work than just presenting facts.
I’m a small-town lawyer with the skills to go up against the biggest firms. My practice is primarily family law and criminal defense. I often work for the downtrodden, disadvantaged, and indigent. I’ve always had one foot in the world of politics, and this is where I more-or-less vent my views. There’s a good chance you won’t agree with my views. If you do, there’s a good chance you vote for Democrats; believe global warming is the single greatest national security threat facing our nation and that science education is the key; support universal, single-payer healthcare; think unions have given us a profound legacy but could use some reforms; don’t think corporations are people; believe Social Security and Medicare are earned benefits that should be protected for future generations; oppose the death penalty; and believe abortions should be safe, legal, and rare.
Welcome. Put on your political hat and join the conversation.
